THE North York Moors National Park Authority is inviting local farmers to attend a special liaison next Thursday, March 16.
The meeting will be attended by staff from the National Park Authority, Defra's Rural Development Service, the Farm Business Advice Service and the Environment Agency.
They will provide an opportunity to discuss a range of topics, including the new Environmental Stewardship Scheme, the Farm Business Advice Service, progress on the formation of 'Natural England', National Park Authority business and grants, the Water Framework Directive and waste regulations.
Tim Lawn, a local farmer and National Park Authority member, said: "The farmers' meetings held last year were very well attended and we felt that they should be repeated.
"It is a time of great change with much uncertainty for the farming industry and I feel that there is a lot the National Park Authority can do to assist local farming communities."
The meeting will take place at The Salmon Leap, Sleights, and will start at 7pm and a 'light supper' will be provided.
To help with planning catering requirements, people wishing to join the meetings should confirm their attendance by contacting Amy Walker on (01439) 770657.
