Restaurateurs in a village are offering a reward for diners who got engaged on Valentine's Day.
Jules and Jennie Looker opened their restaurant at Prudom House in Goathland this year as an extension to their successful bed and breakfast and tea room business.
They are offering any couples who got engaged there last night a free luxury night's stay and dinner on their first wedding anniversary.
The couple bought Prudom House five years ago, and immediately set about upgrading it to create luxury accommodation which has been awarded a silver rating, one of the highest quality ratings, from Visit Britain tourism organisation.
After a £500,000 redevelopment, the old Prudom House tearooms have been turned into a stylish new restaurant.
"We always dreamed of opening a restaurant to compliment the accommodation side of the business," said Jules. "It became a real labour of love to achieve the high quality restaurant we envisaged and to find the right chef to lead the kitchens."
They have hired chef Kristian Didelot from Whitby, and the menu, inspired by the moors and coast, changes daily to reflect the availability of fresh seasonal local produce.
"You can sit in the restaurant and literally see the herd of cows in the field outside," said Jules. For more information log on to www.prudomhouse.co.uk.
