Aiming to be a cut above

The growing needs of gardeners in Ryedale are to be met with the expansion of a long-established firm.

Ralph Yates and Sons, which has outlets in Malton and Pickering, has opened a lawnmower and garden machinery centre to handle sales, servicing and repairs next to its Pickering garden centre.

The purpose-built Mowers 'n' More shop stocks a comprehensive range of leading brands, including the Izeki range of ground care machinery and JCB mini-diggers. Diesel ride lawnmowers are also available.

Charles Hopkinson, the director responsible for the Pickering centre, said: "The aim is to provide everything for the gardener - a real centre of gardening excellence to compliment our existing garden centre. It's a big investment for the business and has been planned to meet the growing needs of both our rural and urban customers.

''We choose to sell only the leading brands, which we can service and maintain with our existing team of highly trained staff."

The new centre has an area for customers to try out products before they buy, and goods will also be available to hire.

Ralph Yates and Sons is offering all readers of the Gazette & Herald a 15 per cent discount on the servicing of any machine with a copy of this article. The new shop's telephone number is: (01751) 475666.
