Motive to move forward

BUSINESS leaders in Scarborough will attend a free motivational seminar later this month as an introduction to creating a business development programme tailored to impact on themselves, their business and the economic future of the seaside resort.

The seminar will be presented by Derek Wall, managing director of Blue Sky Corporate and Personal Development plc, and will be hosted by Scarborough Enterprise Agency at the Cayley Court Conference Centre on Monday, January 31.

The idea was developed in conjunction with Scarborough Urban Renaissance to empower successful local businessman to work with young upcoming managers and business start-ups to develop leadership and management skills.

Local businesses will be encouraged to sign up for a course of four weekly coaching sessions to be run during February, March and April

Eligible businesses will qualify to have the cost of the development programme funded through the Bespoke Leadership and Management Programme managed by Tyro Training, the commercial division of Craven College.

Keith Kaye, director of workforce development at the agency, said: "This is a unique opportunity for Scarborough business leaders to work together to improve personal, business and local economic excellence.''

Anyone who has not reserved their place at this key business event can do so by contacting Jenn on (01723) 354454.
