Ryedale DIY Collective and Rock School update

The Ryedale DIY Collective has had a month that has seen the majority of its interest focus on the gig that took place on October 21 and, as a result, little else has been addressed.

The main news to come out is that Sam Meegan, Mike Harding and Sam Keyworth will be meeting up to put some applications for funding together, so that the DIY can achieve some long term objectives that require substantial financial investment. All DIY Collective members will be consulted about ideas for spending.

The Rock School has had a very exciting time. After a shake-up of its running, we are seeing at least two bands emerging from the set up. The bands in question are Sledging In Shorts (influenced by Blink 182 amongst other bands) and Aftermath. We can look forward to seeing these young rockers hitting the scene in the near future.

The Rock School also saw CYC artist 'Dog' bring some banner-making equipment to make an official Ryedale DIY Collective Banner. The banner is, well, huge, and features the logos of all of the bands involved in the Rock School and DIY Collective. It is an impressive sight and a big thank you to Dog.
