Farmers focus of food

A free half-day workshop is being organised to help farmers to find out more about who their customers are and what they want from the food they buy.

The workshop, due to take place at the Crown Hotel in Boroughbridge on Tuesday, November 1, will focus on what producers can do to become more consumer focused.

In particular, a range of presentations will consider simple measures producers can take to learn more about consumer profiles; identify what consumer information is available and where to find it and understand how this information can help farmers improve their business.

The event is being organised by the Food Chain Centre, the Dunnhumby Academy of Consumer Research, the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Food Group and the NFU's Food Chain Unit.

The workshop starts at 11am until 3pm with lunch provided. There are limited places available from Clare Blakely at the NFU regional office in York. Phone 01904 451550.
