Fishnets fitting makes a whole lot of sense

A LINGERIE company based in Whitby is revolutionising underwear shopping with a unique online system which allows customers to interact with staff via a webcam.

Fishnets Lingerie has launched FishEye Fitting via its website, inviting people to make appointments with staff so that they can discuss what they need and see a clear and close image of products. Or, if they have already bought something and are unsure if it fits, staff can help via the webcam.

Managing director Olivia Wells said: "As an independent retailer, we have to distinguish ourselves from department stores.

''Our aim is to provide a level of personal service and customer care that existed amongst independent retailers 100 years ago, using 21st century technology and stocking the best designers around in all sizes. For us, it's a natural progression. This approach offers customers the flexibility to have a fitting or choose an item any time that suits them, in the way that they feel most comfortable.

''We don't have to see them, but they can see us if they want to. They can even talk to us using MSN messenger if they're a bit shy!"

Olivia also believes that fitting guides are not always accurate. She said: "Fitting guides often fail to take into account outside average sizes and many people can't always travel hundreds of miles to get the right wedding underwear, for example. An online fitting service gives them the perfect solution."
