Open day for Lleyn sheep breeders

THE North East of England Lleyn Sheep Group is hosting an open day on Sunday, June 26.

The event will be at Peter and Mary Nettleton's farm at North Dalton Grange, Driffield, between 1pm and 5pm.

Lleyn sheep are increasingly popular because of their adaptability, good mothering ability and easy handling. The event will be an opportunity to see sheep from many different flocks from around the group's region, and discuss the Lleyn with breeders.

During the afternoon, Dennis Ison, from Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, a noted Lleyn breeder and judge, will be demonstrating the points of the breed for which show judges are looking. Refreshments will be available. More information is available from the group's secretary, Linda Barnard on (01653) 698580.
