Report from young farmers' clubs

Wednesday, June 8, 2005

Kirkbymoorside

On May 4, the meeting was dedicated to rally preparation.

On May 7, the club went to Wintringham for the district rally, which was hosted this year by Rillington.

Members did their best with stock judging in the morning and competitions throughout the day, finishing in the afternoon with a tug of war.

It was a great day, except for the rain during the tug of war. Thanks go to Rillington. The day finished with a disco at the rugby club in Malton.

On May 11, there was a business meeting, followed on May 18 with a valuation night at the home of Mr and Mrs Strickland, Hutton-le-Hole.

Members went around the farm valuing tools and machinery.

James Dowkes thanked Nicky Crummack for valuing and Mr and Mrs Strickland for hosting the event and providing a good supper.
