THE deadline for applications into the Entry Level (ELS) and Organic Entry Level (OELS) strands of the new Environmental Stewardship Schemes has been extended to July 1.
This is because technical difficulties, as well as a backlog of applications to the Rural Land Register (RLR) which provides the land maps essential for entry into the schemes, have created problems for those wishing to apply.
Provided a valid application is received before July 1, applicants will receive an agreement with a start date of August 1.
