Thackley 1, Pickering Town 1
Pickering Town are now fifth after they dropped a couple of vital points on Saturday during their visit to Thackley.
Thackley had beaten Pickering 3-0 in October. This time, the first chance of the game fell to the Pikes after 12 minutes when Dean MacAuley crossed for Brian Dutton to head over the crossbar.
The Pikes took the lead after 25 minutes when MacAuley crossed to James Drinkall, who headed the ball on for Liam Salt to score with a fine back header.
The Pikes should have received a penalty after 29 minutes when Dutton was pulled by Thackley's Bryan Brooks, but the referee continued play.
Thackley had their first chance of the game after 37 minutes when Cory Larkin supplied a superb through ball for Lee Riley to race onto, but Pikes keeper Carl Silburn saved.
The second half saw Thackley get on top and draw level after 50 minutes when Martin Packer crossed from the left and Joel Ettienne scored unmarked from just inside the penalty area.
In stoppage time, Pikes substitute Matthew Morton went on an amazing run but his shot was saved. Danny Brunton was the Pikes' Man of the Match.
The Pikes Reserves beat Pontefract Colls Reserves 3-0 with all the goals scored in the first half by Joe Greening, Ricky Greening and Tom Adams.
The Pikes are at home to fourth from bottom Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday, kick off 3pm. They will hope to complete a 'league double' against Armthorpe as they beat them back in October, 3-1.
The Reserves are without a game this week but February 28 will see the Under-19s host Scarborough, kick off 7.45pm.
