Forward on December 29 were 610 head of stock comprising 114 cattle including 57 bulls, 230 sheep including 31 ewes, 366 pigs including 12 sows.

Cattle: Steers medium to 229.5p per kg (101.3p), heavy to 108.5p (97.9p), heifers medium to 123.5p (98.9p), heavy to 122.5p (99.1p), bulls medium to 134.5p (98.5), heavy to 111.5p (95.5p).

Sheep: with an overall average for lambs 115.8p and ewes £34.75, lambs light to 135.7p (118.4p), medium to 123.8p (109.7p), heavy to 113.8p (109.3p), ewes to £39 (£34.75).

Pigs: with an overall average for pigs £76.6p, sows 50.7p, porkers to 80p (78.1p), cutters to 83p (77.6p), baconers to 84p (74.7p), overweights to 77p (72.7p), sows to 52p (50.7p).

YORK

Forward was 70 head of store stock comprising 70 accredited cattle including 5 calves, 65 store cattle. Accredited store cattle with prices to £480 per head: Charolais to £470 (ave heifers £445). Limousin to £445 (ave heifers £402). Simmental to £398 (ave heifers £398). Friesian to £480 (ave bulls £290, steers £300, heifers £475). Hereford to £432 (ave bulls £340, heifers £398). Blonde d'A to £170 (ave heifers £170). A Angus to £420 (ave bulls £340, steers £245, heifers £396). Accredited calves with prices to £190: Angus Bulls to £112 (ave £104). Limousin heifers to £182 (ave £182). Belgian Blue Bulls to £190 (ave £190).
