The really wild show

TALENTED youngsters are raising funds for the animal welfare charity World Society of the Protection of Animals by performing a variety show.

'Wild World' will be presented on Friday, June 25, at Pickering Memorial Hall, starting at 7pm.

Pupils from St Joseph's Primary school, Lady Lumley's School, Thornton-le-Dale primary school and Ryedale School perform songs and music along an animal theme as part of their bid to raise awareness of animal cruelty.

The WSPA fights against cruelty, exploitation and danger to animals worldwide. It also creates and preserves essential habitats.

There will also be an auction of promises with 26 lots up for grabs, including a limited edition print by local wildlife artist Robert E Fuller and an original painting by Peter Reynolds. Also up for grabs is a tour of York in an Austen 1935 Lichfield saloon.

A raffle and white elephant stall will also be there and wine, juice and nibbles are included in the price of the ticket (£7 for adults, £5 for under-16s).

Tickets are available from the organisers on (01751) 477151 and Pickering, Helmsley and Malton tourist information centres.
