Explore Captain Cook's ship

FANS of The Endeavour are able to board the replica of Captain James Cook's ship at discount prices at a North Yorkshire seaside resort.

During her stay in her UK home port of Whitby, admission prices are slashed to £4 for adults, concessions and children, and £15 for a family ticket.

On June 8, at 5am, to celebrate the Transit of Venus, Endeavour will depart on a morning sail along the coast, returning to port at 10am.

Intrepid explorers can join in a rig-climb on June 10 to raise funds for St Catherine's Hospice.

Half of all the money raised will go towards enabling an under-privileged person to experience sailing aboard the vessel.

Climbing will start at 7pm.

To register or for further details call (01947) 825320.

On June 11, there will be a traditional 18th century evening with a meal and entertainment.

Tickets are £45. For more information, contact the Endeavour office on (08707) 458958.

Endeavour will be alongside at Endeavour Wharf in Whitby until June 14 when she departs at 2pm for Posrunn in Norway.
