Fruit shop rises from ashes

A NORTH Yorkshire family greengrocers shop has reopened, after being gutted by a savage blaze almost two years ago.

Dales Fruit and Veg, run by Sue and Brian Dale and their son, Richard, at 42, Wheelgate, Malton, was ravaged by fire on October 31, 2002.

Since the blaze, the family have traded from premises at the other end of Wheelgate.

Now the shop has been completely refurbished, redesigned, and extended slightly.

"We're absolutely delighted. It's nice to be back after all this time," said Mrs Dale.
