Talk will tackle weeds

A SPECIAL event is being staged to raise awareness of the importance of dealing with weeds and how to do so.

The event, at Kirkham Hall opposite Kirkham Priory, will include a mixture of practical demonstrations and discussions on weed control and management techniques. It will discuss how to deal with dangerous weeds like ragwort, as well as docks, thistles and nettles.

There will be demonstrations by the Lazy Dog Tool Company and Tony Flintoft, and advice on herbicides from Nick Mudd, of Agrovista.

There is no need to book for the event, and refreshments will be available. It starts at 6.30pm on May 25, and you can contact (01609) 783632 for more details.
