Dreams come alive for true blue Jordan

YOUNG York City Knights fan Jordan Martin cheers on his heroes until he is blue in the face - literally.

The five-year-old from Swinton, near Malton, paints his face in Knights colours for every game with a bit of help from his dad, Gary. Jordan has followed his heroes home and away since the age of two and has not missed a single game this season.

The Amotherby School pupil was as proud as Punch when he led the team out recently against Hunslet. And to cap it all, he was pictured with his favourite Knights player, Darren Callaghan (left).

Jordan was also pictured in the match-day programme and couldn't wait to take it to school the following day to show his friends.

His mum, Jacqui, said: "It was a dream come true for him. He adores Darren Callaghan. He eats, breathes and sleeps rugby."

Jordan's next act of devotion is to have his bedroom decorated in Knights colours. He is also looking forward to going down to London to see the Knights play London Scholars in August.

Jordan has caught the rugby bug off his dad, who has followed York since the 1970s.
