School sports a proud record

Ryedale School has been celebrating a string of sporting successes.

Adele Butler has been chosen for the England Under-13 rounders side, while Sarah Burgess, Jessica Thurlow, Amy Ryan, Emma Criddle, Shannon Colman, Karl Sleightholme, Patrick Hackett and Joseph Price have all been picked for the district cross-country team.

Nicola Parker, Karen Fawcett, Anna Clay and Leonie Richardson all represented the district netball sides.

And to extend the sporting success, Lee Otterburn has been picked for the district football team with Mungo Arney and Tom Parvin both earning district basketball call-ups and Stuart Hobbs a county basketball place.

Several others have received multiple selections. Gemma Bell is a member of the district netball and county-cross county teams, while Janet Flintoft, Amy Dzierzek, Kayleigh Humpleby, Melissa Thompson and Anna Collier are all joint netball and hockey district representatives.

And talented sportman Sean Walker has enjoyed success at county basketball level, with district football and cross-country places to boot.
