Police plea after woman found dead

NORTH Yorkshire Police are appealing for help in identifying the body of a woman found in the sea at Scarborough.

The woman, thought to be aged between 60 and 80, was found at the resort's South Bay at about 9.30am yesterday.

She is described as 5ft 4ins, of slight build, with grey hair. She was wearing a green anorak, blue waistcoat, grey cardigan and blue checked trousers.

Police say it is not thought the woman had been in the water for very long, and there were no suspicious circumstances.
