Sheriff Hutton is where the art is

PAINTINGS, photographs and crafts created by talented amateur artists are to go on display at an exhibition in a Ryedale village during Easter.

Work by the 22 members of the Sheriff Hutton Art Group will be on display in the village hall on Easter Sunday and Monday between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

"It's just a lovely village event," said member Anne Read.

"The group has increased slightly and we get people from other villages now. We have painting sessions, and tutors visit two or three times a year.

"Sheriff Hutton is a nice place to paint because we've got the castle and countryside, so we do a lot of landscapes."

Several of the works will be for sale, and refreshments will be available.
