YFC report

KIRKBYMOORSIDE Young Farmers Club has resumed its spring programme and extended a welcome to new members. Anyone who would like more information is invited to telephone Stephen, on (07979) 984796, or Rachel, on (07867) 93788.

The past few weeks have been fun and interesting.

December 10 - KMS YFC Christmas party at Fadmoor Village Hall. Thank you to all club leaders who did a wonderful job of organising games and keeping the riot to a minimum! The activities finished off with a wonderful supper kindly supplied by parents and members.

December 17 - the club went carol singing and made £75 to donate to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Thank you to everyone who kindly donated to the collection or supplied refreshments.

Finally, on a sunny December 7 morning, Kirkbymoorside YFC held its annual ploughing match. The land was loaned by Mr M Wood, at Westfield Farm, Cropton. There was a fantastic turnout, with all 64 plots being filled. Caroline and helpers did a wonderful job of preparing and serving the food. Thank you to everyone who came to plough, judge and help, the Buck Inn, Wrelton, for providing judges' lunches and the following businesses for providing prizes: Russell's, Laycocks, Richard Strickland, Fieldcare, B Otterburn, Woods, Wainds Butchers, Yates.

Some of the profit from the ploughing match is also to be donated to CRY.
