BIG recruitment by Young Farmers

A GIANT Yorkshire pudding is making the rounds in the region, as part of a recruitment drive by the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs.

"The Yorkshire pudding is a true Yorkshire icon," said Rachel Wilson, chairman of the development and marketing committee of Yorkshire YFC.

"Young Farmers' Clubs play a huge role in communities across Yorkshire, and we hope the campaign will help show that Young Farmers' is open to anyone between 10-26 years old, whether they're from an agricultural background or not.

"If nothing else, it should make people stop, look and raise a smile!"

YFC is a nationwide youth organisation for people aged 10-26 years.

There are 50 clubs in Yorkshire with over 1,300 members.

Clubs arrange a weekly programme of events for their members including talks, visits and social activities.

As well as weekly meetings members can also participate in sports, drama, quizzes, public speaking. community and conservation projects.

Membership is open to anyone, whether they have an agricultural background or not.
