Cycle path a hell beyond describing

RE your article (October 15), New Cycle Route 'Moor to Sea'.

This sounds a splendid route for which everyone who has come to realise the advantages of using a cycle will be most grateful.

It seems the nearest access from Malton is at Thornton-le-Dale.

As we have friends in Thornton-le-Dale, and as we do not use a car, we have often wished we could cycle there but have found no way we could do this and live to tell the tale.

The problem is the A169 road to Pickering has no cycle path or even footpath until, to my knowledge, you reach the Flamingo Park turn-off.

What is needed is a screened cycle path as is done on part of the A64.

When the cycle path is unscreened it is a hell beyond describing.
