Atlas for explorers of Yorkshire's past

A NEW book has been published giving an insight into how England's largest county has become what it is today.

The Historical Atlas of North Yorkshire has been compiled by scholars and scientists and gives an authentic and innovative account of the fascinating history of the region and how the landscape and environment has changed dramatically from the prehistoric times.

The book contains over 300 original maps and hundreds of pictures from past and present. The book explores many different aspects of North Yorkshire, including physical geography, agriculture and industry and gives insights into various ages, from pre-history, through medieval to the 20th century.
