Girls qualify for county event

LADY Lumley's School under-19 netball team produced another good performance at the recent Scarborough and district tournament, finishing runners-up for the second successive season.

The team lost just one out of six matches - to Scarborough Sixth Form College - and now go on to represent the area at the North Yorkshire Schools' County tournament in Harrogate in November.

Angela King (goal-attack), Rachel Hodgson and Helen Lawal performed particularly well on the day.

Many of the girls were also part of the under-19 hockey team, which also finished runners-up in the Scarborough and district tournament.
