One lady and her dogs

CELEBRITY cook, countryside campaigner and "Fat Lady" Clarissa Dickson Wright will be at Castle Howard on the weekend of July 19-20 for filming of BBC's One Man and His Dog.

She will be presenting the programme, with sheepdog trials expert Gus Dermody commentating. Clarissa said, "I can think of nothing nicer than to enjoy the wit of Yorkshire amongst the beautiful surroundings Castle Howard."

Nine sheepdog handlers will compete in three teams, each with their own celebrity team captain and, for the first time, One Man and His Dog will play host to international competitors. Vets in Practice presenter Trude Mostue will captain the continental team.

Rehearsals will start on the Saturday morning, with the competition proper beginning with the first singles round at 2pm going through to 5.30pm. There will also be a driving round on the Saturday. The competition continues at 10am on Sunday morning and continues until 5.30pm. Normal admission rates apply.
