Roads to be closed

MOTORISTS in Ryedale are being warned about the closure of two sections of road for repairs.

Part of the road at High Sleights Farm, Barthorpe, will be closed from Monday, until Friday, May 23.

A section of road near Leavening village will also be shut for repairs during the same period.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained and an alternative route for traffic will be signed.

Meanwhile, a section of road at Mains Lane, Welburn, will also be closed for five days next week, while tree branches are removed.

Pedestrian access and an alternative route will be provided.

Walkers are being warned about the temporary closure of a footbridge through Lady Spring Wood, Malton.

The wooden bridge, which was probably damaged during floods, must be replaced. Ryedale District Council officer Jos Holmes said it was important people kept off the bridge until it was reinstated in the coming weeks.
