Our Yorkshire Heritage

Time passes by

An everlasting marching foe

We come and stay awhile

And then we go

forgotten

Look around

And see the beauty of our land

The permanent, the lasting scenes,

In Yorkshire's hand

forever

The moors and dales

The heather and the ling

Perpetual beauty in our life

Our Yorkshire life

untainted.

Stonework, woodwork,

Textures smooth and rough

Cathedrals, minsters and the abbey

Are these enough

to remember?

Bustling people

Characters of veracity and strength

Inherited through indefinite years

Yorkshire born and bred

together.
