AISLABY United's Colin Tate reached a personal milestone in his playing career on Saturday when his side visited Sinnington, their local rivals. He received a special award before the game to mark his 500th game for the club. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to celebrate the occasion with a win as his side went down 2-0.
Colin started playing for Aislaby United when he was just 16 in season 1976-77. He scored his first goals in his fifth appearance away at Appleton-le-Moors.
Though usually a right-back, he has played in almost every position for the club, scoring 31 goals. He left the club in season 1992-93, going to Pickering Town reserves but returned to Aislaby in season 2000-01. His honours with Aislaby include the league and Victory Cup in 1978-79, the Hospital Cup in 1982-83, the league again in 1983-84, and the Scarborough and District FA Junior Cup in 1988-89. In season 1985-86, he won the player of the year club award.
