Floods date

Residents of two flood-hit towns are set to meet floods Minister Eliot Morley to celebrate the completion of a prevention scheme.

Mr Morley will talk to people affected by the floods, and visit the £7.3m flood defence scheme now protecting Malton, Old Malton and Norton.

An Environment Agency spokesman said the visit was part of an event for the community to mark the end of the scheme. Mr Morley is expected to visit on July 10 for the official opening.
