Free advice on potatoes

LOCAL potato growers and agronomists are urged to take advantage of free business advice at workshops organised by the British Potato Council (BPC).

The Central Science Laboratory will host a series of practical and interactive sessions on February 24. The day begins at 10.30am with a main presentation about business management by experts from Barclays Bank and SAC.

After a free lunch, guests have the option of attending three workshops from four subject areas. These include potato blight control and new European legislation, water use and irrigation, and new codes of practice for dessicating crops before harvest.
