£5m in grants

FARMERS can bid for a share of a £5m a year fund to help to improve their competitiveness and marketing, after the European Commission gave the go-ahead for a new government scheme.

Priority will be given to projects involving co-operation and collaboration benefiting primary producers, benchmarking and spread of best practice, assurance schemes, and initiatives with potential to open up new markets, such as raw materials for industry.
