You can play part in rural future

IF you are interested in access to the countryside, here's an opportunity to play a role in offering "strategic advice and comment".

A new group is being formed called the Local Access Forum. North Yorkshire County Council and the Countryside Agency are looking for 18 members covering a wide range of experience. Ideally it will include people with disabilities, ramblers and riders; people interested in nature conservation, tourism, trade unions, transport, health, business and more.

The forum will meet at least twice a year to help guide the council and the Countryside Agency in their responsibilities under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.

If you're interested, contact: The Recruitment Bureau, County Hall, Racecourse Lane, Northallerton DL7 8AD; telephone (01609) 778404; e-mail recruitment@northyorks.gov.uk.
