POINTS mean prizes, and at one North Yorkshire school the staff and pupils were busy celebrating the year's many high points.
Lady Lumley's annual prizegiving in Pickering took on the theme of the healthy school, with a huge vote of thanks for the hard work put in by everyone involved in the massive building developments on site.
Deputy headteacher Trevor Boag said that raising almost £1m towards the new school buildings had been a fantastic team effort.
And an outstanding performance of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat had been another impressive achievement.
Headteacher Norman Corner said: "Despite all the difficulties posed by a large building project, students and staff achieved outstanding examination successes and maintained the fine traditions of the school on the sports field and in music and drama.
"They deserve our appreciation and congratulations."
