AN East Yorkshire village show, which was cancelled last year because of foot and mouth, has returned as a resounding success.
The 104th Bishop Wilton Show, which featured mainly horse and pony events as livestock classes were ruled out, attracted crowds of visitors.
The event also featured the Yorkshire Wolds Half Marathon along with horticultural and agricultural competitions, fancy dress, miniature gardens and a five-a-side football tournament.
Show secretary Gail Turner said: "It looks to have been quite a successful show. Everybody there seemed to enjoy themselves and we managed to avoid the worst of the weather.
"We are hoping to get back to being a proper country show next year with all the usual classes."
