Pupils inspired by Van Gogh

CHILDREN at Pickering Infants School are mounting their own special art exhibition featuring a range of work by all age groups.

The nursery children have been creating silk paintings on a fishy theme, said head teacher June Young. "The reception class's vivid Sunflowers are in the style of Van Gogh," she said.

"Other work featured includes free-standing sculptures and brightly coloured textiles."

The picture shows pupils (from left) Tom Tate, Ruby D'Alquen, George Tune and Bobbie Blacklock with their art work.
