Feeling of 'community'

HOW wonderful it was to celebrate the Queen's golden jubilee in Helmsley. All the events were well attended, culminating in the fabulous picnic at the castle and the Walled Garden.

The atmosphere in the Walled

Garden was especially good, there was a real feeling of 'community'. The setting was fantastic for the event and the fireworks display put the finishing touch on a really enjoyable occasion.

Our thanks go to all the organisers and all the helpers who gave money or time to enable the celebrations to go ahead. Everyone we've spoken to since the event is of the opinion that we should have something similar each year. Surely we don't need a jubilee as an excuse for the people of Helmsley to get together and have fun!
