All decked out for jubilee

WHAT else but red, white and blue for Lady Lumley's non-uniform day.

It was a patriotic theme for the youngsters.

Not just jubilee celebrations, but keen anticipation of the World Cup brought the Pickering pupils out in costume, keen to pay the £1 fine for being out of their usual maroon.

Money raised will go towards equipping the school's jubilee room, and ICT suite in the new sixth form and learning centre.

School head, Norman Corner said last week pupils raised money for Marie Curie nurses, a cystic fibrosis charity and support fellow pupil Sophie Williams in her efforts to fund a GAP year project.

"Their generosity is impressive," said Mr Corner.

"Well done to everyone in the school community."
