Voyager at full tilt on the Moors Railway

ONE of the country's newest commuter trains is making its maiden trip - on the North York Moors Railway.

The Virgin Voyager 221 is a new breed of diesels, designed to tilt to reach faster speeds.

Although the picturesque line through the North York Moors National Park is more used to old-fashioned steam trains, big crowds are expected to turn out for the special event, part of a weekend-long diesel gala.

Visitors from across the country are expected at the event, which runs all day today and tomorrow.
