AN INTREPID North Yorkshire horsewoman is set to saddle up and ride out on an five-day charity challenge next year.
But Caroline Woodliffe, from Huby, near Easingwold, won't be setting off on a relaxing trot through British woodland.
Instead, she is one of a 32-strong party preparing to tackle a tough journey across the Egyptian desert, camping out Bedouin Arab style along the way.
The trip won't all be roughing it though, as along the way Caroline will take in some of Egypt's spectacular sites, including the famous city of Luxor.
She hopes to raise at least £2,000 for the Brooke Hospital, which cares for working donkeys and horses in India, Pakistan, Egypt and Jordan.
NHS worker Caroline, 36, said she is taking on the trek because of her love for animals.
She said: "So many of these animals do need help, often because traditional working practices overseas have not evolved that far.
Anyone who would like to sponsor Caroline can contact her on (0798) 0037351.
