WI ladies set their targets for the year

WOMEN'S Institutes, which last year created a considerable impact with their views on the Post Office, have begun the process to sort out their major resolutions for this year.

Following three resolution selection meetings last month, the top three for the North Yorkshire East Federation of Women's Institutes are:

Cut the charges to small abattoirs and give them their full support (235 votes)

To enable doctors to legally prescribe medicinal preparations of cannabis extracts for suitable medical conditions (146 votes)

To implement national screening for prostate cancer.

Resolutions will be reviewed and discussed at the NYEFWI agenda conference to be held on April 9 (7pm-9pm) at the Galtres Centre in Easingwold.

In other items from the February issue of the NYEFWI news bulletin, National Day will be held on Thursday, February 22, at Easingwold School. There will be stands selling local meats and cheeses.
