OSBALDWICK lead Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division two north by 73 points after rolling over Dringhouses by seven wickets.

Dringhouses totalled 121 with John Patrick making 29 as Jonny Rawsthorne captured 3-41 and Andy Butterfield took 3-43. Rawsthorne then followed with 55 as he and Darren Harris (25) sealed a comfortable victory.

Second-placed Duncombe Park lost ground on the leaders when they only pocketed six points in their drawn game at Hovingham.

The home side rattled up an impressive 255-2 as Stuart Prest made 67 before Richard Bowling hit an unbeaten 71 and Paul Deverell 80 not out.

In reply, Brian Leckenby made 40, Peter Kent 54 and Jake Fox 35 not out, but Tom Lund took 3-47 and Stephen Mosey 4-46 to peg the Helmsley side to 190-9.

Thirsk won by 115 runs against Pocklington. Tom Jackson hit 53 and Keiron Fenwick 74 not out as Thirsk reached 195-6.

Pocklington were dismissed for 80 as Harry Consett took 3-5.

Tadcaster Magnet eased into third place when they took the bulk of the points in a draw at Woodhouse Grange.

Magnets totalled 209-8 thanks to runs from Ed Day (45), Tyrone Naude (31), Phil Smith (30) and Simon Palmer (42) against Paul Grewer (3-30) and Rich Hollingsworth (3-47).

Woodhouse replied with 163-8 as Rob Daniel made 37, Sam Craven 27 and Luke Wilson 27, but Nadeem Shefta took 3-29.

Sheriff Hutton’s Geoff Schofield cracked an unbeaten 106 but was on the losing side as hosts York III won by one wicket in a nail-biter.

Tim Harrison hit 48 and Joel Wilford 59 in a Sheriff total of 264-4. York’s successful response was fronted by Dave Patmore, with 81, while Will Stephen made 54 and F Adams 69.

In division two south, leaders Acomb made 215-7 against Hull, who replied with 214-9 in a finish which could have produced any one of four results.

Acomb’s James Fletcher made 51 and Harry Booth 32 before Matt Dickenson struck a fine 66 not out. Booth’s 5-57 proved to be the controlling factor in a thrilling draw.

A return of 3-40 by Sam Morris and 4-38 by Rob Woodcock put Driffield on the victory path against Hull Zingari, whose 145-8 was eclipsed for the loss of only four wickets. Damon Jenkinson led the way with an unbeaten 45.

Second-placed Beverley were totally outgunned at Londesborough Park, who won by 133 runs.

Beverley were whipped out for 41 as Mark Tissiman grabbed 4-9 after Park had posted 174-8, with Greg Drewery hitting 64.

Bottom side Thorp Arch & Boston Spa could only muster 73 when they batted first against Clifton Alliance, who won by eight wickets.

John Myers hit 31 not out and Ali Wray 25 not out for Clifton, whose Dominic Snook had taken 4-15 and John Thornton 5-32.

Doug Griebenhouw sailed past the 500-run mark when he cracked 130 as Hornsea totalled 306-6 at Patrington, who replied with 284-8.
