DUNCOMBE Park maintained their division two north promotion bid when they defeated anchor outfit York III by 60 runs.

B Wheldon was their top batman with an unbeaten 59 which helped Park to make 203 after James Skelton had made 33 and Peter Kent 38. B Wilkinson had 3-62 for the visitors.

When they replied, S Jones made 26 and Matt Wright 54 but Ali Holmes grabbed 4-35 and Skelton 3-18 in an all out 143.

Leaders Osbaldwick improved their push after inflicting a nine-wicket defeat on third-placed Woodhouse Grange II.

Andy Hall starred for the York side. His 7-20 had Grange all out for 109. Matt Durkin made 33.

Jonny Rawsthorne fronted Osbaldwick’s reply by making 70no as he and Matt Dunne (35no) secured the triumph.

James Wainwright made 38 and D Asquith 33 as Hovingham posted 153-8 at Pocklington.

But the hosts moved to a comfortable six-wicket win as Alex Downey hit 55 and Andy Anderson 65 to move them into mid-table.

Harrogate advanced after a five-wicket success at Sheriff Hutton. Nick Schofield hit 60 in the Castlemen’s 156 as Rob Stanworth took 5-35.

Joel Wilford responded with 3-27, but George Owram (31) and Rob Taylor (39) clinched the win.

Division two south leaders Acomb gained the better of a draw over Welton & Brough.

There were good runs for Acomb from Neil Grant with 65 and James Byford, who made 39, in a total of 180-9. Jake Oakes took 4-41 and Matt Hatfield 3-65.
