HESLERTON came out victorious in their top-of-the-table Andy Hire Scarborough Evening League division ‘A’ clash at Ebberston 'A' last week - but only just.

Sam Triffitt hit 30 not out to take Hezzo home, reaching their target of 138 with six wickets but only four balls to spare.

Aussie batsman Michael Dawson had earlier made a crucial 67, after Ebberston had totalled 136-9 in the first innings.

For Ebberston, Ben Lealman made 56 and Neil Eddon 32, while Tom Benthall kept them in check with 4-21.

A haul of 3-8 by Harry Walmsley helped Flixton 'A' to a seven-wicket win over Seamer 'A' - Flixton's first victory of term.

Tom Bumby hit 80 in Forge Valley 'A's total of 139-6 as they beat Cloughton 'A' by 16 runs. Gary Jordan had the best batting and bowling return for Cloughton, with 31 and 3-39.

In-form Rob Pinder smashed 43 not out to take Staxton to a seven-wicket win at Wykeham after Linden Gray took 5-19 to restrict the hosts to 86-6.

Tom Gregory put Cayton 'A' to the sword in division 'B' as he smashed nine sixes to help Scalby 'A' race to a big score of 201-9.

Gregory ended on 60, his half-century having come up in only 17 balls, but he wasn't his side's top-scorer as Dave Holborn made 66.

Cayton 'A' in comparison stuttered to 134-9 in reply, Ryan Woodhead making 33 not out as Paul Hesp took 3-45 and Peter Beard 3-22.

Paul Pickard claimed a hat-trick in superb figures of 5-15 for Sherburn but still ended on the losing side against Flixton 'B'.

Visitors Flixton were all out for 116 but then Connor Stephenson took 3-16 and S Hill 3-10 as Sherburn were all out 13 runs short.

Unbeaten Ebberston 'B' had a comfortable 54-run win at Cayton 'B' in division 'C', S Woodhead making 52 after Tom Holmes (3-24) and Sam Hardie (3-8) had dismissed the hosts for 77.

Staxton 'B' looked on course for a big win over Scalby 'B' but in the end only just got over the line.

Scalby slumped to 10-6 chasing Staxton's 110-6 but then took the game to a tight finish, being all out just four runs short of their target, chiefly thanks to N Barber's 42.

Mark Dove followed his 30 runs for Staxton with 3-11, while Dan Outhart claimed 4-12 only to then badly injure a hand when fielding, which saw him go to hospital.

Joe Bayes hit 98 and S Bayes 73 not out as Ravenscar ran up 200-1 in a 114-run win at Bar Valley Nomads.
