DIVISION one promotion hopefuls Sessay got off to a flying start with a solid 122-run win at Driffield in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Sessay made 218-6, with Mark Wilkie hitting 73 and Joe Watson 73. Jamie Hopper had 3-62 for the hosts, who were wiped out for 96 as Stuart Pierse claimed 4-22 and Karl Carver 3-22.

Acomb managed to hang on for a draw at Pickering.

The Pikes' cause was helped by two newcomers - with Mike Brown making 32 and Issac Christopher taking 3-4.

Chris Nicholls made 33 in Pickering's total of 132 as Dave Sykes took 4-16 and Andy Tute 3-33.

Tute then hit 37, but Acomb were 102-9 at the close.

Solid batting by a quartet of Heworth players set up a 45-run victory over Bolton Percy.

Andy Simpson made 49 and Oliver Sherwood 41. Dan White had 3-45 for Percy, but Dan Walton (30) and Guy Wilkinson (27no) lifted the home score to 193-7. In response, Peter Houseman hit 59, but Tom Neal’s 4-18 had Bolton all out for 148.

Relegated Selby walloped Malton & Old Malton by 160 runs, with Tom Collins grabbing 8-17. Earlier, Lee Wild had hit 77, Gareth Roberts 50 not out and Matt Hoyle 31.

Stu Watmore had 3-33 for Malton as Selby reached 221-6, but then saw his own side fall to 61 all out.

In division two north, Pocklington made 201-9 at Harrogate, who replied with 151-9 to earn a draw.

Andy Inns made 76 for Pock and then Andrew Anderson captured 4-18 on his debut.

Tadcaster Magnet won by five wickets at Hovingham.

Steve Prest made 32 for Hov, but his side were all out for 99 as Paul Clark took 3-34 and Nik Shefta 3-33.

Thirsk’s Mark Cook hit 60 in his side's 129-9 at home to Osbaldwick, with Andy Rippon taking 3-28 and Andy Hall 3-17.

Osbaldwick's Matt Hattee hit 61 not out in a winning 133-5.

Sheriff Hutton could only make 99 at Woodhouse Grange, who won by three wickets.

Acomb II hit the highest total of the day when they made 249-4 against Hull Zingari in division two south. Hull struggled to a draw at 85-9.

Patrington beat Clifton Alliance by five wickets. John Myers (30) and Mike Knowles (38) helped the York side to 122-9.
