Sudden death in village
POLICE were called by the ambulance service at 9.21am this morning after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman in her 70s at a property in Slingsby.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police, said: "Officers assisted ambulance staff to gain entry to the property where sadly, they found the woman deceased.
"It is too early to say how the woman died and officers are currently carrying out an examination of the scene."
