MORE than 3,000 pints were pulled at this year's Beertown at the weekend.

The charity festival of beer, which was held for the third year, is organised by Bad Seed and Brass Castle breweries in Malton and held at the town’s Milton Rooms.

Alongside live music, more than 40 different beers from 31 breweries in the UK, plus two international brewers, were on offer at the event.

Beertown raises money for Ryedale Special Families, a charity that supports families of children with disabilities, illness and special needs throughout the area.

Chris Waplington, from Bad Seed Brewery, said: “The event was a huge success. We had 500 people through the door on Saturday alone.

"Over the weekend we showcased 48 of the most exciting beers from 31 of the best breweries in the UK, plus two international breweries, pouring a total of more than 3,000 pints.

"The feedback we've had has been fantastic, and while we need to double check final takings we are certain we've raised more money for Ryedale Special Families than last year.

Chris added: "My favourite comment of the weekend was 'This is such a good event, it's exactly what Malton needs'."
