SLEET and snow are on the way to parts of North Yorkshire tonight as an Arctic blast sweeps the country.
It may be late April, but weathermen are forecasting wintry showers, particularly over the North York Moors, and these will be heavy at times, with hail, sleet or snow falling even at low levels.
The snow may stick, mainly over high ground in villages such as Goathland, near Whitby, and motorists should beware of icy patches in places by the morning.
To make it feel even colder, north-westerly gales are likely down the Yorkshire Coast - making it feel more like midwinter than the middle of spring.
