A CHURCH hall was damaged when thieves attempted to steal lead from its roof.
Police are appealing for information about the incident, which happened overnight between September 13 and 14, at St Saviours Church Hall, on Gladstone Road, Scarborough.
The suspects climbed on to the roof, but were unable to remove cladding.
During the incident, damage was caused to a drain pipe and an outflow pipe, which the church will have to repair.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 and ask for PC Darrel Temple or Scarborough police.
