A TEENAGER who joined Malton’s Talbot Hotel fresh from school two years ago has been appointed restaurant manager at the Pheasant Hotel in Harome.

Emily Molloy, of Malton, 19, has learned and developed her career under the supervision of the Talbot’s food and beverage manager Dominique Ghislain.

General manager David Macdonald said he was delighted to congratulate Emily on her new appointment.

“Emily has been a fantastic member of the team and whilst we’re sad to see her go, it’s testament to the quality of training and opportunities that we offer at the Talbot,” he said.

“ She has been a key member of staff since the re-launch of the hotel and more recently has also supported the opening of Malton Cookery School.”

David added: “Emily has done exceptionally well to be appointed to a responsible position in such a short space of time but her potential stood out and we wish her well.”

Staff at the Talbot Hotel and James Martin Restaurant are offered the opportunity to further their careers with BTEC and NVQ qualifications and are encouraged to broaden their skills and become involved with different parts of the business.
